Sefirot Series (Healing Paintings)

The Sefirot Series: Healing Paintings were painted in response to study and meditation on seven of the ten Sefirot*. These seven Sefirot reflect the qualities of Hesed (compassionate love), Gevurah (discernment and strength), Tiferet (beauty, love and heart), Netzach (endurance an perserverance), Hod (gratitude and glory), Yesod (foundation and creation), and Malkhut (Earth, Majesty and Shehinah). Each of the paintings expresses in color, texture and in the quality of the light that cascades through them, aspects or evocative energy of a Sefirah. As a component of the exibit Arriving, (Congregation Mishkan Shalom March 2010) the Sefirot Series represented an arrival, and an opening to receiving, thruth, revelation and awareness. The paintings are meant to provide healing through opening and receiving.

*Sefirah/ Sefirot: A Sefirah is a channel of Devine energy or life-force. There are ten Sefirot. These channels are referred to as "Ten Sefirot, Ten Devine Attributes, Ten Devine Emanations, Ten Divine Radiances, or Ten Divine Powers" and are the basic terms and concepts of the Kabbalah. They refer to the way the Devine is revealed and continuously creates both in the physical realm and the metaphysical realms. They are the DNA of all existence.
