I seek in my art to bring what I have sensed and experienced, my memories, my understanding and wisdom, into my paintings; to create so that the viewer can touch with their eyes what I have come to know.
“Initiation is the process by which we turn from our natural inclination to remain unconscious and decide that, whatever it takes-suffering, striving, enduring- we will pursue conscious union with the deeper mind, the wild self”
- C.P. Estes, Women Who Run With The Wolves
(New York, Ballantine Books,1992)
In my private practice I guide others to move liquid watercolor on paper as a form of non-verbal expression. This is done with rags I tie around cotton balls. Using clear Gesso I have attached these cloths to surfaces and created the following paintings completing them with oil and oil pastel.
